THE panicky King orders the slaughter of all infants just because the Court Astrologer has predicted that a commoner will marry his daughter and be the cause of trouble to him. A frightened mother puts her infant son in a basket and leaves it in the course of a river. The childless Thakore Ranjit Singh's wife finds the basket and adopts the infant as her son calling him Amar.

Years afterwards, Amar has grown up into a handsome and strong man. One day he saves Princess from a fatal accident. Both fall in love at first sight. This is frowned upon by his chief minister who has cast his evil eye on the beautiful Princess as well as the kingdom. When Champa the maid-servant of Thakore reveals the truth about Amar to the King, the latter on the advice of the Chief Minister tries to get Amar killed by forcing him to fight with the champion wrestlers of the world. But Amar succeeds in vanquishing them all. The foolish King and his evil minister try their best to get Amar killed in various ways but he always manages to come out of his ordeals.

The desperate minister now imprisons the King usurps the kingdom and arranges to marry Princess by force. But he has reckoned without Amar who, in one of the most thrilling climaxes ever brought on the Indian screen, succeeds in saving the Princess from her tragic fate at the risk of his life. Thus it is that the Court Astrologer's prediction comes true and all's well that ends well.
